Do skincare products REALLY expire?

Skincare shelf life. Looking at your impeccably organized cabinet full of gorgeous serums, precious face creams and face masks is surely satisfying. However, how often do we check our products’ expiry date?
It may be a little difficult to identify when it’s time to throw away our skincare products. However, there are a few things you can look out for if you’re not too sure .
- Bad odours
- Deterioration of packaging
- Product’s overall change in texture
- Discoloration
SKINCARE SHELF LIFE – THE PAO SYMBOL
For most skin and body care products, look on the container; you should be able to see a tiny image of an opened jar with a number on it: 6, 12, 24 or 36. This is the number of months you have to use that product.
Continuing to use skincare products that are past their expiry date may result in experiencing the same problems you used them to fight your skin’s problems in the first place.
In order to prolong the shelf life of your skincare products as much as you possibly can, make sure to store them in cool dry places, such as cabinets or drawers. Ensure that all products’ caps are tightened to avoid any air remaining trapped in.
